Indian Maritime University (IMU) has circulated a notification to invite online registration form from those appliers who want to get
admission in Undergraduate & Postgraduate Courses in the area of Marine. To apply online participants will have to read this article till end to check all the eligibilities. All willing candidates’ selection will be done on the basis of candidate’s score in entrance test. Remembering Dates are available below for all the visitors of the post. To get admission in several UG/PG courses; deserving students must be aware about selection process and reservation of seats categories wise so that no further problem may be disturb at the time of admission.   • 4-Year B. Tech (Marine Engineering)
  • 4-Year B. Tech (Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering) c) 3-Year BBA (Logistics, Retailing and E-Commerce)
  • 3-Year B. Sc (Maritime Science)
  • 3-Year B. Sc (Nautical Science)
  • 3-Year B. Sc (Ship Building & Repair) – This Programme is being conducted only in the Affiliated Institutes.
  • 1-Year Diploma in Nautical Science (DNS) leading to B.Sc. (Applied Nautical Science)

PG Courses
  • 2-Year M.Tech (Marine Technology and Management)
  • 2-Year M.Tech (Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering)
  • 2-Year M.Tech (Dredging and Harbour Engineering)
  • 2-Year M. Sc (Commercial Shipping and Logistics)
  • 2-Year MBA (Port and Shipping Management)

Eligibility
For DNS
Candidates have to pass 10+2/ equivalent examination or B.Sc or BE/B.Tech against IMU CET (from IIT or college recognized by AICTE). Individual have to pass 10+2/ equivalent examination with PCM or B.Sc in PCM, Electronics with Physics as individual subject in one of the years. Contender must have secured minimum 60% marks (10+2/ equivalent examination) or not less than 50% marks (B.Sc & BE/B.Tech)
For B.Sc
 Applying applicants have to pass 10+2/ equivalent examination. Candidates have to pass 10+2/ equivalent examination with PCM & English subjects. Aspirants need to secure minimum 60% marks in PCM & 50% marks in English.
For B.Tech
 Candidates have to clear 10+2/ equivalent examination. Candidates have to qualify 10+2/ equivalent examination with PCM & English subjects. Aspirants have to score at least 60% marks in PCM & 50% marks in English.
For B.Tech (Lateral Entry)
Candidates have to pass Diploma in Engineering can apply for IMU Common Entrance Test.
For MBA
 Candidates have to pass their bachelor degree from a recognized university. Candidates have to obtain at least 50% marks. Score 50% marks in English Subject in 10th/12th/ UG Degree.
For M.Tech
 Candidates have to pass their graduation or equivalent degree from a recognized university. Candidates have to secure minimum 60% aggregated marks.
Age Criteria: Age of the Candidates should be between 17 years to 25 years.

Admission Process: Selection of the aspirants will be done on the basis of merit list of IMU CET entrance test. Qualified candidates in IMU Common Entrance Test will be further called for IMU CET Counselling for final admission. Qualified candidates in counselling round will get final admission in applied courses.

Exam Pattern:
  • Exam will be held through online mode that is Computer Based Exam.
  • Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) will be asked in examination.
  • Total 200 questions will be asked in the examination.
  • The total time duration of the whole exam is 3 hours.
  • Each question carries one mark for each correct answer.
  • There is no negative marking for the wrong answer.

IMU CET Syllabus: Syllabus is different for UG & PG programmes which is given here:

For UG Courses: The syllabus of UG courses will be comprised of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English, Aptitude Test & General Knowledge. The syllabus is based on plus 2 levels (CBSE, ISE & State Boards).

For PG Courses: The syllabus of PG course consists of MBA & M.Tech Syllabus:
  • For MBA: The syllabus of an MBA programme is as follows: Quantitative Ability, Verbal Ability, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning
  • For M.Tech: The syllabus for M.Tech Course is as follows: Mathematics General, Engineering, General Knowledge, English and Aptitude.

How to Apply for IMU CET: Contenders may follow the below mentioned step to fill form-
  • Candidates should go to the official website of Indian Maritime University that is www.imu.edu.in
  • On the home page select link for IMU CET Notification in “Announcement” section.
  • Read details and enter on Apply Online.
  • Registered candidates are advised to enter on “Already Registered” link and login with previous id and password.
  • If you are a new user then press on “Register Yourself” link.
  • Fill in the details in registration form and submit the form to receive the User ID and Password through Mail and/or SMS
  • After receiving User ID and Password again login to fill the Online Application Form
  • After that aspirants have to upload a recent scanned photograph and signature at the time of filling application form.
  • Recheck the entered details carefully and then press on “submit” button.
  • In the end get the print out of submitted form for need.
