Courses: Ph.D. programmes
Eligibility Criteria: Read this section of post-
Marks Aggregate:
- Candidates who are willing to apply for the entrance they must have done Bachelor’s Degree Programmes under (10+2+4) OR (10+2+3) OR (10+1+4) system (OR awarded B.Sc. degree under 10+2+2 system prior to 1985).
- The candidates who have appeared in the Master’s degree examination are also eligible to apply provisionally for admission.
For
General/ OBC candidates: Candidates must have secured
at least 60% marks OR an overall grade point average (OGPA) of 7.00 out of
10.00 OR 3.50 out of 5.00 OR 2.8 out of 4.00 OR 2.21 out of 3.00 in M.Sc./M.Sc.
(Ag.)/M.Tech./M.E.
For
SC/ ST/ PC candidates: Candidates must have secured
at least 55% marks OR OGPA of 6.50 out of 10.00 OR 3.25 out of 5.00 OR 2.6 out
of 4.00 OR 1.95 out of 3.00 in M.Sc./M.Sc. (Ag.)/M.Tech./M.E.
Age Limit: Age of
the students should not be less than 21 years. No relaxation will be provided
in minimum age limit to any candidate.
Application Fee: The General/ OBC Candidates
have to pay an amount of Rs. 1000/- in regard to the application fees and the
SC/ ST/ PC Category Candidates have to submit Rs. 500/-. Candidates have to
submit the application fee of following amount through Demand Draft in favour
of Director, IARI payable at New Delhi.
Selection
Method: Admission to courses will be done on the basis of their performance in
Written Exam and merit list.
Entrance Examination pattern:
- Entrance examination will consist of one paper of three parts -
- Part I (General Agriculture) and
- Part II & III (Subject Paper) and
- Academic score shall be calculated on the basis of percentage of marks obtained in various examinations from matric (X standard) onwards.

- Candidates will have to visit the official website Indian Agricultural Research Institute i.e. www.iari.res.in.
- From the homepage select the “Academics” section and enter on the “Admissions” tab.
- Now enter on the link “Information Bulletin for Admission to Ph.D Course” appeared on the next page
- Read the whole information given and then go back to the previous page.
- From the previous page enter on “Online PhD Application for entrance examination”.
- Fill the application form with complete details
- Upload certificates in respect of his/ her qualification, Caste/ Community certificate and passport size photographs.
- Submit the application form
- Candidates have to take a print out of IARI Ph.D Admission form and attach relevant documents along with the Demand Draft.
- At last send the IARI Application Form to the postal address mentioned below.
Documents Required: Self attested copies of following
documents are required to be attached along with the application form are:
- Matriculation (X) certificate for proof of Date of Birth.
- Master’s degree certificate and marks sheet.
- SC/ST/OBC/PC certificate (whichever is applicable).
- Certificate required from candidates appearing for M.Sc./M.Sc.(Ag.)/M.E. final year examination.
- Original Demand Draft in favour of Director, IARI, payable at New Delhi
