Kendriya Sainik Board Secretariat has decided to implement Prime Minister's Scholarship Scheme that is why an advertisement is
broadcasted for such aspirants who are willing to get admission into Professional Degree Courses such as BE, B.Tech, BDS, MBBS, B Ed, BBA, BCA, B.Pharma, etc. or already pursuing any of the courses. PMSS Scholarship is awarded to wards / Widows of Ex-Servicemen (Army / Navy / Airforce / Coast Guard) after following certain measures in the applicants. Those suitable aspirants, who have just get admission in the Professional Courses in the Academic Year, they are only eligible to apply for PM’s Scholarship Scheme.

This scheme will certainly assist the expected participants for continuing their profession courses till end easily. The main motive of the Narendra Modi Scholarship Scheme is to encourage Professional Education among wards / widows of Ex-servicemen and Ex-Indian Coast Guard personnel for the growth of the country. Duration of Prime Minister's Fellowship is One to five years as per programme appliers choose. Other necessary details in favor of PMSS Scheme are brought up below for all the visitors. Duration of Scholarship: One to five years as duration as per duration of course applied for.

PMSS Scholarship Amount: Following Scholarship will be given on selection and subsequently on successful completion of Board/ University/ College/ Institute Examinations each year without failure.

Priority for Grant of Scholarship Category Wise:
Category 1
Wards / Widows of ESM / Ex Coast Guard personnel killed in action.
Category 2
Wards / Widows of ESM / Ex Coast Guard personnel disabled in action and boarded out of service with disability attributable to Military / Coast Guard service.
Category 3
Wards / Widows of ESM / Ex Coast Guard personnel who died while in service for causes attributable to Military / Coast Guard Service.
Category 4
Wards / Widows of ESM / Ex Coast Guard personnel disabled in service with disability attributable to Military / Coast Guard Service.
Category 5
Wards / Widows of ESM / Ex Coast Guard personnel in receipt of gallantry awards.
Category 6
Wards / Widows of ESM / Ex Coast Guard personnel (PBOR Only).

Scholarship Eligibility:
  • Applicants, who have taken admission, are only eligible to apply for PMSS.
  • Students studying in 2nd and subsequent years are not eligible.
  • Those, who are dependent Wards / Widows of Ex Servicemen & Ex Coast Guard personnel who died in harness / disabled due to causes attributable to military service / coast guard service, irrespective of the rank, are also eligible.
  • Dependent wards of Ex Servicemen / Ex Coast Guard personnel and their widows (below officer rank only) are also eligible.

PM Scholarship Scheme Eligible Courses: Scholarship will be given to the candidates, who are enrolled in Professional Degree Courses like BE, B Tech, BDS, MBBS, B Ed, BBA, BCA, B Pharma, etc. duly recognized by the respective Government Regulatory Bodies, such as All India Council for Technical Education, Medical Council of India, UGC. In case of integrated ME / M Tech / M Pharma, initial three / four years degree will be considered for scholarship.


Account Details for Scholarship:
  • Applied candidates need to have account in State Bank of India or Punjab National Bank which has “Electronic Clearance System” / Core Banking and should be linked to student’s aadhaar number.
  • Students, who have minor account, can convert it into major account.
  • In case of minor account, a joint account with parent will also fulfill the requirement.
  • Candidate to scan and upload 1st page of passbook (in original), showing name of student and account number clearly.


Selection Procedure: Selection of job seekers will be done on the basis of category of Ex Servicemen / Ex Coast Guard marks obtained in MEQ. Merit List of selected individuals will be uploaded on official portal.

How to fill Prime Minister's Scholarship Application Form: See these steps to apply online-
  • Applicants need to visit the official portal of Kendriya Sainik Board Secretariat that is ksb.gov.in/introduction-pmss.htm.
  • Go to the ‘PMSS’ that is given at the top menu bar.
  • A drop down list will available, you need to select ‘General Information’ from it.
  • Read the complete instructions about PMSS Scholarship Scheme Notification.
  • If you are matching with eligibility criteria, then go to ‘New Application’ tab that is given under ‘PMSS’.
  • After that a further table will open, select ‘apply online’ option and after that fill online application form.
  • Upload your passport size photo and signature etc as per the requirement.
  • Submit the filled application form perfectly
  • In the end take print out of it for future use.


Documents to be uploaded:
  • Ex-Servicemen / Ex-Coast Guard Certificate as per Annexure-1.
  • Bonafide Certificate duly filled up correctly and signed by Principal/Dean/Registrar of the Institute / College as per Annexure-2.
  • Certificate from his/her bank stating that Aadhaar Card of student linked with his / her bank account number as per Annexure-3.
  • Matriculation Certificate duly self attested for verifying the Date of Birth.
  • Minimum Educational Qualification (MEQ) certificate as applicable. (10+2 Mark sheet/ Graduation (mark sheets of 3 years) / Diploma (mark sheets of all semesters).
  • 1st page of Bank Pass Book (PNB/SBI only) clearly showing name and A/c Number of Student.
  • Copy of PPO and the following supporting documents in case of Category 1 to 5.
