Eligibility
Criteria for VI & IX Classes: For candidates appearing in the
General Category and for children of Defence personnel minimum qualifying marks
in the entrance examination are:
- 25 % in each paper and
- 40 % aggregate
- For candidates appearing in Scheduled Caste/Schedule Tribe categories, there are no minimum qualifying marks but only inter-se-merit, which is relative merit among competing SC/ST candidates against available vacancies.
Age Limit:
- Class VI: Between 10 and 11 years On or before 1st July of the year in which exam is held.
- Class IX: Between 13 and 14 years On or before 1st July of the year in which exam is held.
Application Fee:
Candidates can pay the application fee through online/offline mode for Class VI
& IX as per mention below:
- General and Defence Category: Rs. 400/-
- Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe: Rs. 250/-
Selection Process:
Depending on the number of vacancies available from time to time, candidates in
merit list will be required to appear before a Selection Board for an interview
and before a Medical Board for medical examination.
- Interview will carry 50 marks which will be added to marks obtained in written test.
- Final merit list will be drawn on basis of combined score and candidates will be admitted strictly according to order in final merit list.
Exam Pattern: Admission is made on the basis
of an All India Entrance Examination which consists of written examination
comprising three parts for class VI and four parts for class IX, as described
below.
