Seats Reservation:
- 15% of the total seats are booked for SC category
- 7.5% of the total seats are reserved for ST category
- Defence including Ex-Servicemen – 25% of the total seats
Eligibility:
Those students who want to get admission in class VI, they should be born in
between 02 Jul 2007 to 01 Jul 2008. Candidates who are willing to take
admission in class IX they must be born from 02 Jul 2004 to 01 Jul 2005 (both
days inclusive) and passed the VIII exam at the time of admission.
Application Fee:
All the contenders are required to deposit some amount in the form of
application fee via online mode or offline mode through demand draft in the
favour of The Principal, Sainik School Tilaiya, State Bank of India.
Cash Method:
- For SC and ST category – Rs. 250/-
- For General/Defence category – Rs. 400/-
Post or Internet
Banking Method:
- For SC and ST category – Rs. 300/-
- For General/Defence category – Rs. 450/-
Selection Process:
Admission of class IV and IX students will be based on performance in All India
entrance examination. Successfully selected candidates will be called for
interview related to the subject of medical fitness for final selection.

Minimum Qualifying
Marks: Candidates belonging to General/Defence Category should score
minimum 25% marks in each subject and aggregate marks must be 40%. Those who
belong to SC/ ST Category there selection will be done on the basis of
inter-se-merit which is relative merit among competing SC/ ST students against
vacant seats. Shortlisted candidates through merit list will be called to
appear for Interview and Medical Examination.
